 FAQs

  • Yes. Currently I only offer group coaching to those who are 20-29.

  • Asking what a group coaching session is like is a bit like asking what a conversation is like. There are some very broad, general principles, but overall it depends massively on the participants involved. No 2 sessions will ever be the same, and no 2 groups will ever be the same. When you start a coaching group, you're walking into the unknown. That’s why an experienced group facilitator is important. My coaching groups are interactive and collaborative, and are a hybrid of coaching and peer-led support groups. I follow a loose curriculum that I adapt based on the unique needs of each group. You’ll be given tools and insight to help you improve your interactions with others, but more importantly, you’ll be given a space to practice that is unlike any space you’ve been in before.

  • Blue Star's group coaching is great for people who want help with:

    -Feeling nervous around other people
-Not knowing how to start and/or sustain conversations
    -Lack of friends
-Resolving conflict in a healthy way
-Setting boundaries with others, especially important people in your life

  • Each group runs for 20 weeks and meets weekly for 90 minutes, and all groups have 6 participants plus your coach and a supporting co-facilitator.

The mechanism of change varies from person to person, but in general there are 4 main sources of benefit:

    1) The consistent and reliable routine of regular meetings, and having people and a space that you can count on every week.

    2) Insight the you gain into yourself, either from having your assumptions questioned in ways you’ve never considered before, or from hearing someone else’s experience and learning from it.

    3) Navigating the interpersonal challenges that inevitably come from interacting with a bunch of strangers in this new and unusual way.

    4) Explicit teaching from your coach, some of which is pre-determined, but most of which will be based on the unique needs of your specific group.

  • Normally it takes at least 8 weeks for people to start noticing changes. However, you’ll be able to tell within 2-4 sessions if the group is a good fit for you and is heading in the direction you want to go.

  • Any sessions that you pay for but don’t use can be applied to future coaching sessions, either for yourself or transferred to someone else.

  • It’s possible that some groups may end up smaller than 6 people, but we have systems in place to integrate new members into a group if need be. Often the introduction of a new member brings new energy into the group and I have yet to see it have any negative impact.

  • Yes! I offer a limited number of 1-on-1 coaching spots for those who want more private, individualized help. I specialize in interpersonal issues, and managing ADHD.

Please book a call with me or email me if you would like to know more about individual coaching.
